I make movies that move people.

I'm an actor's director. I know how to get a real performance out of people. But that's one piece of it. I care about all of it: the image, the sound, the cut, and how it comes together to make you feel something. Character-driven films that are built to reach a wide audience.

About

Venk Potula makes character-driven films built to move a wide audience.

An actor's director, Venk, came up performing, which is why he knows how to pull a real performance. But that's one instrument. He cares just as much about the image, the sound, and the cut, and how all of it comes together to make an audience feel something.

As a director, his short films have played more than 25 festivals - including the award-winning Woke (Urbanworld, CAAM Fest) and There's Something To It (Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival). He produced and starred in FOUR SAMOSAS, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was released theatrically by IFC Films. NAMASLAY, his second feature as producer under his Khrisp Entertainment banner, releases theatrically August 6th, 2026.

Venk won the AFM Pitch Competition, teaches at UCLA Extension, and holds a dual MBA/MFA from Chapman University. Raised in Atlanta, he's based in Los Angeles.
